battery removal help
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I didnt see this question anywhere, so its probably a dumb one, but here goes

I just bought a Virago 250, 2005. I got it home, parked it, took the key with me, but came back to find a dead battery. I'm going to try to charge it up, but I so far have not been able to get the battery out.

Do I remove the rear seat pad then the main seat or do i just remove one of the plastic side caps below the seat? I havent been able to remove those yet, they barely budget and I don't want to break anything down there.

Any help would be appreciated.

RE: battery removal help
IIRC to get to the battery take the drivers seat off - one bolt on each side - the front has a clip. No need to remove the rear seat.

The side covers come off by pulling out at the rear to pop the post out of a grommet, then slide to rear to remove tabs from slots. Don't lose the rubber grommets from the front slots.

Thanks. That did it. For some reason I thought I had to remove the side panels, but it was much simpler.

RE: battery removal help
There should be a tool kit inside the right side panel. And if you add a pigtail for a battery maintainer, its a good place to route it.
