Loud(er) horn for 2012 VStar 950 Tourer
Anyone have any suggestions on replacing the wimpy horn on a 2012 VStar 950 Tourer? I've read about the compressor-type and the electric type. Many either won't fit nicely on the Bike or won't stand up to the water bath that they get when riding in the rain. Price is also a consideration. What's the most for the buck? Thanks.

I installed a "Screaming Banshee" elec air combo. I put the 2 piece unit on my bike last year, rode in rain and through winter, no problems. You use your horn button, and u can either go beep beep, or hold it down for 1/2 sec longer and BEEp BEEp 130+ decibels plus the brights can also be set to flash with the blast. I think I paid around $100. worth every penny. They have a website
www.screaming-banshee.com
I love it.

RE: Loud(er) horn for 2012 VStar 950 Tourer
I have thought about buying one of these
http://www.wolo-mfg.com/air.htm
seem good value but they are ugly.
for a sexy horn (pun intended), but big $ try
http://www.rivcoproducts.com/products/home.php?cat=223

the only reason I have not bought a wolo is because I very rarely use my horn, I see idiots from a mile away and keep them there, and if I don't see them I am usually busy taking evasive action and don't have time to Blow my horn.

LOL u guys need to ride here in NJ and NY. You will not only use the air horn every day, but wish you had a handlebar mounted 12 Gauge. Mine is so loud it has made texting/phoning "Cagers" drop their phones. Angel

Welcome, the guys down there are good to help if you have any probs. It's nice to be able to "beep, beep" when you want and let others really hear you when you need.
It has already saved me 2 times from a moron texter.
