Intake cack
I think I found a crack in front cylinder in
take. How can I test it to see?

Um you could gently "mist" starting spray around the suspected area while its running and it there is a crack the vacuum with draw in that mist and your engine will rev

THANKS TRIED THAT TODAY WITH BREAK CLEANER BIKE DID STALL BUT NOT AT CRACK .IT STALLED WHEN SPRAYED AT CLAMP ON CARB SIDE GO FIGURE ? GOING TO TRY JUST TIGHTENING BEFO

Yeah, apparently the intake boots on the Vstars like to dry crack. It's usually superficial though. Mine looked all cracked and I got concerned about it. I tried the spray test and it passed. Further research tells me that it's common. It's just the outer layer.

Good find on the clamp. Tightening it down should fix you up. Not really anything else it could be in that case.
