An enjoyable project to be sure.

I remember when I used to spread my race car out like that, all the bits easy to find. Just couldn't quite understand why the wife (now Ex) kept getting uptight, I made sure I left room to walk through the loungeroom and space on the table to eat!!!!

Thanks for the pics. I see things that I've never seen before. I, myself, would use a darker colored carpet for the layout so that the stains wouldn't show. Maybe a nice dark berber. Lol As a banjo picking friend once said, I don't know why she wanted a divorce. I was good to her. I even moved the banjo off her side of the bed.

Engine is out!
It takes lots if prep to make sure you cautious and unbolt/unhook everything.
With the help of all my tools etc I managed to do it all by myself ...(I know...not recommended ..but I didn't have anyone to help...at least I waited until the weekend so the wife was around just in case I needed someone to dial 911)
I made a video of me taking the engine out that I'll upload later but for now here a couple if picture of what the bike stands at now[Image: bave4yhy.jpg]

Between your painting and this, you are a talented guy. Nice work.

Lol..
Yea...the carpet is a leftover from a house project...it just came out to be handy to not have parts moving around the floor but its definitely going in to the trash after this project :)

Thank you sr,
All this things I've learned by my self no training at all ... I'm a hands on guy that loves to experiment with motorcycles and learn LOTS in the process !
When I got lay off from my office job it just gave me the opportunity to truly have fun with things I love :)

In this project I'm going to be doing many things I never did before including making my own hand tooled leather seat ...
At the end we will see if I can ad that to my list of things I can do or just another good attempt but not the best creation out there :)

What have you done with cooling fins? Ground them off somehow? Looks pretty interesting.

@MDCAT
I'm using two Carbide Cutting wheels in my dremel...what I do is... get the to wheels in a single mount separated by a very thin washer so when you cut in an angle you get a deeper cut followed by a not so deep cut right next to it
It produces an interesting effect [Image: te2u9y4u.jpg]

Not much done today..
I coated the frame and ran a pinstripe on it...
Got the new engine into the frame but just as a mock up..[Image: e7apyva5.jpg]

Nice, I'd have to disagree on not getting much done. That's a lot.

When you say 'coat' is that powder coat and do you have to bake that on?
