size of air filter intake ?
I am going to switch to an after market air filter in stead of using the oil soaked OEM one.
I need to use this bike to go and get one so I can't take off the pod to check .

I am needing to know what size the intake on the frame is so I can match the correct replacement filter .
It's either going to be a K&N (don't know the part number) or one of those 4" inch round ones from the auto parts store (don't know which one).

Any help you can give on this will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Y'all .

id suggest taking it apart so you measure and visualize what you need and putting it back together before you go.

I have seen pictures of some of these foam filters when they were being removed and ...it's not pretty.
All deteriorated and falling apart...if I did a exploratory surgery I might be stuck if it was like that.

Thanks ...RCOM

RE: size of air filter intake ?
If the foam filter was properly oiled, it should not be so dry as to fall apart. As I mentioned in an earlier post, the frame of the 250 is the intake manifold and the opening is in the side. About the only way to see what you will need, is to disassemble the 'Pod' as you call it, pull the filter and get your measurements. Good luck.

Your bike is an 09... I'd bet even if it was never changed or oiled it wouldnt be deteriorating yet.

I'd think if it was you'd notice... bits getting sucked In to the carb or cylinder would change how the bike ran. But I dunno for sure I guess you'll find out haha
