04 650 Custom vs Classic front suspension
I am looking at getting some new front fork springs and was reading that Progressive Suspension makes a set that fits the Classic and Silverado but says will not fit my Custom. These are Progressive part number 111126. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the front ends? Maybe another source for springs? Am trying to eliminate some of the initial droop I am getting when first setting on the bike , it drops bout 2 inches and dives pretty good during braking. Thanks!!

Those springs work on a Custom too. I've had them in my Custom for several years.

So how do you like them Kam?? Would you recommend them over the stock springs?

Yeah, big difference. The stock springs had a lot of dive at stops. These got rid of that, without making the ride harsher. One thing to be aware of, as I mentioned, I've had them for several years, and they are getting softer. I've noticed diving at stops again. I'm going to replace the shock oil, and if that doesn't help, I put a little longer spacer in, to increase the preload. I expect as some point, I'm going to have to replace them again.

Finally got my springs in this morning! All I can say is this is the best $70 I spent on a bike!! Sorry didn't get any pics of the swap out but if I can post a PDF file on here it is the guide I followed to do the swap. 45 minutes to an hour and it was done!!!! The new springs are a lot heavier wire and wound in a progressive manner and also about 4 to 5 inches longer. It did not stiffen my highway ride up really noticed but sure improved the line while cornering!!! I can actually hold a good line thru the only 5 corners we have here in NW Ohio now instead of using the WHOLE lane up. The dive I was experiencing during front braking is cut way down and the 2 inch sag I got when I sat on it is gone! Not a little guy either at bout 245 lbs.
Now on the Progressive Suspension fitting page there is not a Custom listed but these DO FIT fine just as Kam1Kaz3 stated earlier. Many thanks to you for giving me the heads up on fitting ok!! All in all , I recommend these for anyone looking to replace their springs.
