SW Missouri Ozarks Springfield Branson
Anyone around Springfield, Missouri or Branson or general Ozarks region?
I know its gettin pretty cool now but may find a day here or there to do some riding.
Deer season coming up quick so be busy most weekends till after the holidays but ya never know.
Maybe I'll get my deer tags filled early and be done with it!

I don't live in that area but I visit friends in Springfield, MO once or twice a year. I'd love to be able to move up there but it's not exactly a hotbed of activity for my field.

thought MO only had about a 4 week season, had more deer though windshields on hwy outside of KC than heard of getting tagged. TX season started last weekend, ends 1st weekend in JAN, all rifle, bow for about a month prior. yeah was in KC for couple yrs never could hook up with hunting there.

Southwestern MO and Northwestern AR are actually pretty good hunting - the deer are small but fairly plentiful. My friend up there is blind but his friends always fill their tags with no trouble. Also lots of turkey and hogs, from what I'm told.

youth firearms Nov2-3 and Jan4-5. My 12 yr old son got his first deer Nov 2 early opening morn!
Regular firearms Nov 16-26.
Antlerless Nov 27- Dec08
Alternative(was muzzleloader, now all but regular rifles are allowed)Dec 21-31 Archery Sept 15-Nov15 and Nov 12-Jan 15
Lots of deer around the area just gotta be willing to hunt the hills, woods and brush a little more. Not much chance for 400 yard or more open plains or field shots here. 100yds line of sight can be rare at times.
I hunt with a 30-30 brushbuster rifle and its a fine rifle for around here.
Also got a CVA .50cal muzzleloader I use during alternative weapon season.
I did get my turkeys this past spring and fall hunts.
We are allowed one buck per season but any number of antlerless (does or button bucks or less then 3 inch antlers)deer tags you want to purchase.
A lot of counties are going to the point restrictions on bucks, allowing only ones at least 4 points on one side, or spikes less than 3 inches.
Fine with me.
If I could only use my bike to haul and pull me and all my gear up into the deer woods with me!

When I used to shoot a lot of lead wad cutters, I would get leading and would remove it with a Lewis Lead Removal Kit.

Here is one seller but, there are many. http://www.missouribullet.com/details.php?prodId=71

@Ghostryder63 I have friends in Springfield that I try to visit at least once a year. I'll try to remember to give you a shout out before my next visit next spring and maybe we can get together for a ride and some BBQ or something.
