Daytime running light conversion
This information was sent to me by a mate of mine and so I'm passing it on. I'm actually waiting for him to buy and try a set.

Apparently these 40mm units fit our front indicators, and make them into daytime running lights. They also switch off when the indicator is on.

RE: Daytime running light conversion
Keep us posted when he gets them and post some pics. Looks pretty interesting and could see a lot of different applications. Thanks

@gibbo
Yes thanks for the post..
I just ordered 2 sets of the 40" to try it out..
Only $3.50 here in US
I'm still a little confused by the electrical connection that allows you to have them turning off when the turn signal indicator is on
Anyone here can explain that more in detail pls?

RE: Daytime running light conversion
@Maustarman maybe this explanation will help.

no relays required
Hi Jaro

"The LED's turn off when the amber light comes on, so when the turn signals are activated they alternate between a bright white and amber. This is achieved by taking a constant power source from the headlamp and then connecting the earth (-) wire of the LED ring to the live (+) wire of the turn signal. That way, when the turn signal is functioning, it in effect breaks the LED circuit as there is no earth to complete it and the LED turns off.
So no relays required, complete install £5 ($8) and a couple of hours of head scratching, cursing & checking faulty connections.

Chris"

I lifted it from here: http://1300tourer.com/content/running-li...ll-2-front
