Bike finally got her own space...
...no longer squeezed between two cars in the carport, she now has a whole space to herself. We moved my daughter and her kids out to her own apartment today. Still not finished, but she'll be there more than here now so I put the bike under the carport first thing this morning...and a good thing, too, it's pouring cats and dogs out there now.

Sure am glad we got all the big stuff moved before it did more than sprinkle a little.

RE: Bike finally got her own space...
I've gotta tell you, that's the sorest I've ever been. No stabbing pains anywhere but deep, deep throbbing aches everywhere. I've got to face it - it's time for me to start asking friends for help with stuff like that instead of doing everything myself - especially since these heart meds have destroyed my muscles and left me with no upper body strength.

Woke up at 3AM for my nightly pee and it took me about two minutes to make it from the bed to the bathroom (all of ten feet). Couldn't get back to sleep because everything hurt literally from my fingertips to the ends of my toes. Got up and put arnica gel on my forearms, calves, and back and laid down again. That arnica gel works fast and is extremely effective - but after the pain from forearms, calves, and back faded I could feel the pain from the inside of my elbows and knees and my upper arms and thighs.

If I wasn't playing bass I wouldn't have made church this morning but bass and drums are the two positions a modern worship band can't really do without so I dragged myself up there. Now I've had lunch and I think I'll slather myself with more arnica gel and go back to bed for a week or six...

Good to hear you have the new space for your ride. If your heart meds are the reason for the sore muscles you have no business moving stuff to begin with. Ask for help and you'll be surprised how much is available and I won't feel like I'm wasting my time when I tell you to ride safe.

wow brother, i feel ya for sure, i hopped off my tailgate not too long ago, thought did it carefully, next day could barely move as messed up my back, was 4 days on meds to not do the crooked walk. key thing if doing all of that like you did, pop bout 3 tylenol and soak in a hot as you can stand it tub of water to help those muscles! many many years ago, ok proly few decades ago tried out for popo academy, made it to the physical tests, gawd! was always a sprinter, this was mile then push ups, then sit ups, then how flexible to get someone off of hold on you, etc. think i barely made it into my 2nd story apt, grabbed 2 brews while watching the tub fill up, was amazed that was able to make it to my regular grocery store job the next day in fairly good condition. at that time i could do a 1 hand swing of a 50lb bag of dog food over each shoulder and jog back to the customer with it.

RE: Bike finally got her own space...
I am still barely moving though I did make it out to the store.

One of the problems is that I'm so restricted in what I can take because of my other meds. I'm not allowed to take ibuprofen, even. I am allowed to take Tylenol but it does very little good for me.

Surprisingly enough I didn't hurt my back this time. I've had lower back problems for the last several years but this time it's no more sore than the rest of me. The main problem is that these meds have destroyed so much muscle tissue pretty mundane stuff is a strain. Really torques me off because, frankly, I think they've overmedicated me and the result is causing as many problems as it's solving. I took myself off most of the meds that have the worst side effects and that I figured I needed the least (they had me on super strong beta blockers even though I've never once had arythmia - the beta blockers slowed my heart so much that they then put in a pacemaker to speed it back up).

They had me on medications for cholesterol and triglycerides even though I was always great on both of those. Those are the ones that really destroy muscle tissue. I've been steadily gaining about five pounds a year on all that crap, no matter how much I tried to fight it.

I started tapering off the meds a few weeks ago more because of the way they were interfering with my ability to focus at work than anything. Last week I realized that without even trying I've lost 15 pounds in the last three or four weeks. Zero change in diet, zero change in exercise (until yesterday), -15 pounds in 3 weeks vs. +5 pounds every year...

So, now the plan is to stay on the stuff that specifically controls blood pressure and, of course, my Coumadin for anti-clotting. I'll work with my regular doc to see if we can get my blood pressure under control without going to beta blockers and we'll just monitor my cholesterol and triglycerides for now. No way I'm going to let the cardiologist put me on all the rest of that crap just because his book says people who have had a heart attack should take medications x,y, and z.

Frankly, I'm okay with dying. I'm not okay with getting fatter and fatter and weaker and weaker.

well good for you @OldePhart yep as @commonground stated you know yourself the best, we all react to meds in different ways and have to do what is best for us.
