Needs to be rebuilt. Tried cleaning it good but didn't work. I have a buddy mechanic working on it for free. As long as I buy the parts he does the work. It's therapy to him.

I've replaced the air filter, oil filter, fuel pump, and spark plugs. Now it needs a rebuilding on carb.

I'm fortunate to have two mechanically inclined buddies. One we call MaCGyver. He was a helicopter mechanics in the USMC.

Is it seals that need replacing? Or is there some hard parts you need?

Tell you truth I'm not all that sure. Seals for sure.

RE: Which carb rebuild kit?
Hmmm...is that broken piece one of the jets? Kind of hard to tell from the photo.

In any case, those carbs are showing a lot of corrosion and varnish. You probably aren't going to know what you're dealing with until you get all the plastic and rubber parts off and soak them real good in some real carb cleaner (the nasty stuff).

The only thing I hate worse than carbs is multiple carbs... :frown:

You said you already tried cleaning them, right? There is enough corrosion showing that I'd replace the jets...and the needles to if they look like that...

It might be easier to get some clean-looking carbs off of a later model on ebay...there are people parting out wrecked bikes all the time, you might get lucky.

RE: Which carb rebuild kit?
Yeah id say that is a broken jet. But the carbs look really bad. Id submerge them in a cleaner for awhile and scrub the crap out of em.

Ive heard... dang i forget the name. Its like a tank of solvent and it uses like vibration or something. Like ultrasonic cleaning? But ive heard it was really good at cleaning parts. I know harbor freight sells the units

Know where I can find the part other than buying a "new-to-me" carb?
