6th Gear - pulley change
There’s a thread on ‘the
other VS 950 forum’ about swapping the VS 950 rear pulley for the larger pulley
from the Yamaha Stryker (1 more tooth). It’s a direct parts swap and gives an
RPM drop at highway speeds, and less of the 950’s high RPM ‘buz’. Has anyone
here tried this parts swap?

I think a larger rear pulley would make the engine run faster. I would try a smaller one.

A larger rear pulley will make the engine run FASTER not SLOWER. You need a smaller rear pulley.

RE: 6th Gear - pulley change
This has been a topic on another forum in the past. The pulley that is swapped out with the Stryker is the front pulley, not the rear.

One tooth larger on the front will have the same effect as three teeth smaller on the rear. The larger pulley on the front in theory is better for the life on the belt because you are increasing the radius the belt has to go around.
