My new old bike..
I bought this 2000 1100 classic with 19k miles. I was going crazy with no bike for a few weeks and getting a bigger one was taking too much time to decide upon. I am surprised to see that this bike is so smooth and comfy than my other 08 custom.

So far I have removed visors on front lights.

Congrats on new bike. Shucks it's just broken in. So, you figured it was time to cut to the chase. Good choice.

RE: My new old bike..
Thanks all. :)
Yesterday I went out with first ride of the season and did about 350 miles. Engine ran very smooth with almost no vibration to grips or under. Just today noticed that carbs are a little wet so will be servicing it soon.
Has oil relo kit installed. Yessss.
Backrest work great with legs up on highway pegs.
It's pretty much all stock but will be doing a little mod. :D

some slip ons or mod the stock exhaust, then maybe some xtra lighting! both believe are a big help to being noticed by cagers.

@zag (aka. Mr. Powers) are you saying after all the talk of getting a 1300 or bigger, you ended up getting another 1100? I can't say much since I ride the 650 classic, but I will say (without offending all the custom riders) that you made a wise choice going with the classic! Good work. Hope you enjoy her.

Ain't gonna offend me...I much prefer the styling of the Classic but had to get what was available and there weren't any new Classics that I could find last year. :crying: Seems like Yamaha only decides to make the Classic about every four years or so (in the 650, anyway).

RE: My new old bike..
@rsmed1, indeed the preference was to go bigger but I couldn't find the right bike with right price. I was itching to get on the saddle and being living in this cold place every single day counts. :)... somehow saw this bike for sale. It just intimidated me and went with it. Other reason that I know 1100 better than others so would not be difficult to work on it.
@OldePhart, right on sir
First thing is to cleanup the carbs and plugs, then some matt black paint job.. Keeping the classic style with a very little mod.
@Keith, good idea. I will change the lights.

@zag I'm with you. I would rather be in the saddle puttin on miles than modifying a perfectly good motorcycle. Life's short, the weather isn't always nice, the ride is what it's all about. Smile

Just did a two day 670miles on it. I almost fell sleep on the saddle on day two. Quiet and comfy.. I liked it.

RE: My new old bike..
ah ha found it! looks sweet mate, love the bags. thats some big miles you are doing (impressed).
wire wheels cool, I guess you have to run tubed tires? get some luther lace to maintan those wheels.
the ORK is a bonus
Has it still got the AIS? A quick cheap and easy mod is to drill the rear exuast baffle, sounds good but not at all obnoxious.
Matt Black, not another one, the shiny black looks great.
did your old bike have a after market air intake? I would also recomend the BAK, but it is expensive.
