Hi all. Been here for a moment now and my winter project is coming to an end.
Originally started with a v star 1100 1999 bought in november 2014.

Took it at my dad's garage to rip it apart and then put everything in my car to bring it at my house.

I cleaned everything up and since I dont have a garage I started rebuilding it in my living room

First step is custom exhausts. I used the stock headers and welded tubes at the end of them

Then primed/painted them

And ended up wrapping em with titanium headers wrap

At the same time I painted the calipers black

Next step was cleaning up the carbs and while i was in the cleaning I decided to take them apart and paint them too

This looks way better to me

Then was time to rebuild those old wheels

First of all the disassembly

Took the time to polish every single spoke and nipple

I ordered new tires and got the wheels to a bodyshop for a durable black paint

Got the tires mounted a few weeks later and the end result is gorgeous. (No picture with the rubbers on)

Next I prepared the engine for the ceramic coating

Once painted, ready to go back in the hole

Time for the rear fender. Finding the right one have been the longest part of the build. I ended up ordering a custom one at Ledsledcustoms. The contour model to be specific
Here is an example

Recieved it and got it on the swing arm to fit it just right

I made some customs brackets and welded nuts inside the fender so I could bolt right into it

Then it was time to put it all back together

Did the wiring...

Installed the exhausts

And the turn signals

If there was a good safe way to have a bolt on seat- or even to have the subframe bolt-on-able like the 650 I would bobber my 1100 also

Got on the seat case. I made a cardboard stencil and this weekend ill try to find a steel plate to cut and fit in there
[Image: 1799c99959ef7ee3792e30d784b90225.jpg]

I trimmed a vulcan 800 front fender to make it more "bobber" and I plan on using the stock star under fender rail but I think ill cut it because i find the fender is a bit too high

Today was exhaust bracket day.. trying to figure out a rock solid way to hold those bad boys in place, I think Ive found a pretty good way to make it happen

Forgot about this thread. The project is 100% done and I am more than happy with it :)

Here is a rolling shot with the tracker handlebar
[Image: 0dc0221ad397796a040f0924115fa33e.jpg]

I then switched to 12" apes.

The next thing on my to do list is to tuck wire into the handlebar and delete the big factory switchboxes.

Wire in the handlebar - Done

[Image: b532ef0c0f44c4d7b475d240f25af143.jpg][Image: ef62a8227d5145dfdb5ecdf1dca125c1.jpg][Image: fad98d49484d9e971f512c889aa13f0e.jpg]

Also resprayed the headlight cover since the cables were rubbing on it

Next, I will start the passenger seat project.
