Question on Installing V&C Cruzers on my 2000 650 Classic
So question guys. I'm installing my set of Vance and Hines Cruzers on my 2000 650 Classic, and I've ran into a problem. On the rear exhaust, when I try to insert the pipe into the rear exhaust port, it doesn't fit. The OEM exhaust slipped inside the port, but the V&Cs are the same diameter, and cause the pipe not to sit flush. For the record, the pic is without the gasket, which comes on Tuesday. That's how the exhaust pipe sits against the port, with a large gap between. Wouldn't adding the gasket cause an even larger gap? Thanks guys, hope I'm missing something silly here. RE: Question on Installing V&C Cruzers on my 2000 650 Classic
If you look closely you will see that the inner pipe is actually seating against the inside of the port (where the new gasket will go). It is only the flange that sits out about 3/4" or so from the port, unlike the stock exhaust which is almost flush. I don't know why V&H does it this way, but it works fine. Mine haven't leaked at all.
