Couldn't really open her up to try out all the new additions though, because of the conditions...but it was good to ride again. This winter has SUUUCCKKEDDD.

FYI, that swing arm bag...I received it yesterday, but I'm not a fan. $60 bucks shipped to whomever wants it. I paid 75. basically brand new.
Nice looking ride @Cambo! Love the seat!

Is this the same bike you had put a front fender onto the rear? I remember back when you had a front fender on the rear for that 'bobber' look. I see you have no fender's on it now...which actually looks good. I love the 'bobber' look. Would like to get mine that way, but then I couldn't ride the wife/kid...

yes! same bike...thanks, I prefer this look too! yeah I was staring at it one day and thought...."nah", and ripped it off

lol, I chopped the subframe off for sort of the same reason, I didn't want to be tempted to ride with my wife or kids. Once I wrecked on my sport bike last year, that was it. no chance in hell I'll take them for a ride EVER.

I understand. Well the bike looks good man! You did a good job. Maybe one day when I don't ride the wife/kid anymore, I can do something similar.

Swapped in an '05 classic rear wheel, spray painted it with some DEI high temp silicone spray meant for exhaust wrap lol (love this stuff, it goes down nice and even and seems to be holding up pretty well on the other pieces I've painted.)

As you can see, rear rotor is missing because I stripped 3 of the bolts and can't get the rotor off. So now I'm front brake only until I replace it lol. Kinda like the look though ;)

and yes, I plan to keep the set up as is: black rear wheel and polished front wheel!

thanks man!

haha, great question...I honestly thought the sub frame ended where I chopped it lol. But I've since realized that I could schwack that remaining bit...I just keep on forgetting to do it.

about the springs, I had the SAME question to myself after I saw another person's seat with the springs facing the other way...but then I did a search for springs and saw people had them both ways. Not sure which one's right lol!

Brand new, started out like this:

Started liking the looks of the longer classic fenders, and really enjoyed their coverage when I'd get caught in the rain. So I did this...

Said screw it, I'm turnin this bitch into a classic. Hah.

Found a set of stock cast wheels on FB for a hundred bucks, and got them powdercoated.

[Image: 521839_10151383970488230_1323652402_n-1_zps7fa8a938.jpg]
Then proceeded to go a bit crazy. Powdercoated a complete Classic front end, new Biltwell bars, Phase7 headlight and LED trim ring, lowered the rear a bit with some home made links, and a few other things here and there. Paint is coming soon.

I've never seen a custom transformed into a classic. Nice work. (Coming from a 650 classic owner) - to @jointbeaker

I so want to find Classic fenders (front and back) for my 650 Custom. Of course, in the case of the back you've also got to have the longer fender stays and presumably the pan under the fender is also different. Then...I'd have to get a new tail rack and bag supports to fit the longer stays...

Probably a change that ain't going to happen. Might manage just the front fender one day, though.

The rear fender is a straight swap, no stays no under pan.
The front fender won't fit unless you swap the lower forks or whole forks as well
