1989 650 V Star Classic cleaned carbs wont start
I have a 1989 650 V Star classic. It was running but fuel was coming from the overflow pipe.
I assumed it was stuck needles took off the carbs cleaned them freed up the needles out them back on now it will not start.
I checked the fuel pump it was pumping and there is fuel in the float bowls I slackened off the drain screws to check.
It will fire with a dab of starting fluid but then just dies.

you need to pull the jets out one at a time so you dont mix them up. blow out the passageways and on the pilot jets pay attention to the side holes take the wire from a bread tie wrapper and clean.
it wont start or idle so i would look at the pms screws and passageways

the first year for the 650 classic was 1998 so if you have a 1989 it may be a virago a 535 maybe?
