If it was me I would do 2 coats gun metal gray (approx 3cans) 3 coats white (approx 4-5 cans) 1-2 coats yellow (approx 3 cans) finish will be matte. if wanting vintage might consider a coat of pearlizer.

RE: My addiction to PD
I rode in the rain last weekend, and I'm not sure but think I have some new nicks in the paint on under side of my tank. This is another reason it would be nice to plastidip. Protect the OEM paint!

I'm now thinking it's worth the investment. Thanks for aproximate quantities. (Didn't think about grey, but that usually is primer color duh.)

@YamaMassGirl Gracie has factory flames on her tank and the 1st couple of times i dipped her I didn't think to use the gray and ended up with 4 extra layers of white to cover them lol i think she had about 12 layers both times but man it was easy to peel. lol

How do you guys justify the cost of all that plasti dip? Runs about $25+ a can here, I can't imagine how much you have sunk into all those spray cans....

For a spray can? Costs about $8-$9 here in Massachusetts.

Just painted the straps on a used MS Fats shield a friend gave me. Took a can and a half cuz I did both sides and sprayed the small rivet or washer type pieces that show on the front. All with 3 coats.

If I bought new black straps from Memphis Shades they would cost $109.95. (They would look better or shiny.) But now that I decided I like the straps black I can use a Rustoleum or something else permanent.

This above is just the basic stuff. I know some of the fancy mixed stuff, metallics, pearls, etc., are expensive, yes.

Actually yeah, I remember you sharing. I like the fact that the chrome around the speedo won't blind you now on a sunny day!!

Was wondering how hot the cover for the pull gets. Kinda want to black that out, just for cosmetics.

How long have you had it on swish? And have you successfully removed it without any damage to the chrome. I'm sure it's safe for chrome too.

Meant cover for the pully, down on left side over front of belt.

Been on for awhile now and no problems. You could try it on the other cover. They also make a high temp paint but it would not come off if you didn't like it. I have taken off chrome before and no problems.
