Handle Bar Question
Hey I have read a lot about guys replacing their stock bars on the 1300 due to them complaining about back issues and such. More so wanting a straight up ride I guess. Well I would love to get some feed back from anybody that has not changed their bars from the originals. When I bought my bike, the guy had replaced the original with almost straight bars so Im really on a full stretch out and leaning forward, when riding and hands tingle quite abit after about an hour or so. I have the original bars and wondering if I should put them back on or buy the Barons that other people have switched to. I am not worried so much about a straight up riding position but would really love some of your feed back on this guys and gals.

Sometimes I wonder about this site..... Almost 30 riders have read this and not one reply!!! Usually forums are for helping out other riders with info and just plain point of view on things. But maybe this is not the right site for that?????

RE: Handle Bar Question
I ride an 1100 so I can not speak for 1300, but I have stock bars with 3.5 inch pullback risers to get the bars closer to me. I'm short at 5'5" and needed the back and hand relief. Works really good. Just sit on you bike (on kick stand) and put your hands out to where you would want them. That's the way I got my measurement. By the way, 3.5 back is about limit on cables.

RE: Handle Bar Question
I have an 07, sat on a 14 or 15 2 years ago. Noted the difference in the bars. So I went to the forums, found what year the bars changed. Ordered bars from 2010 cause that was the first year after 07 they changed. I'm 5'4, the change is much better. I check the 1300Forum.com modifications. There's another think it's Vstar 100 wiki. There's a ton of info there. The short cuts are on my laptop. Smartphone isn't loaded with them.

RE: Handle Bar Question
I also changed the bars on mine and like it much better. I have the stock 07 bars for the price of shipping if you want them.

And yes, this board is dead in the winter...

The recommendation I saw a lot of before was using the stock bars off the Road Star.. just my $0.02

Perhaps there has been "no" reply, since almost all 1300 riders have replace those ridiculous stock POS handbars. They are crap! Just find yourself a nice setup, and save your back some backache.

There is great need for a sarcasm font.

Here's a link that will get you all the info you could need. And, if you don't see what you want, call Shane.
