What are your road trip plans for 2016?
I'm curious to know if anyone has any long road trips in mind for the 2016 season.

I want to know from where to where? How long is the trip? How many days will you travel? What will you see? What are the destinations?

This is only my second 'serious' riding season, so here are some long (to me) rides.

My long trip will be from central Massachusetts to Burlington, VT. It will be over 200 miles, (which may be piddly to most of you.) My brother and I will head up route 100 through the mountains, and take 116 through Green Mountain and Finger Lakes National Forest. I want to camp and hike, and explore for at least 3 nights stay.

Another trip I am looking forward to is riding up to Laconia, NH for Bike Week in June. I have never been before and am really looking forward to experience everything that goes on there. That trip will be 120 miles, and will try to do mostly backroads. Again, with my brother, who will be on his sportbike. We will see if he can make it up to Burlington after this trip. I'll be a lot more comfortable on my new cruiser. ;-)

Other destinations I have in mind for solo trips are Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA. (Did it last year and it was awesome.) - Old Orchard Beach, ME. A few rides up to Hampton Beach, NH and other beach destinations.

Future dream rides include Blue Ridge Parkway, the Pacific Coast, and ultimately to tour the entire country! - Baby steps.

What are your up coming plans?

No over night trips planned. Work threw me a curve ball, we had to use up vacation at the end of the year and I didn't have any so i "borrowed". Still negative. We were in NH and Vermont last fall. It was amazing! I kept thinking it would have been great riding some of those roads.

Never heard of Aroostook. Will have to look at it on a map. Sounds cool though. I love Maine.

Aroostook is the northern most county of Maine. I believe land wise it's the biggest county east of the Mississippi. Lots of rural and neat stuff to explore. (Northern most point of Rte 1 starts/ends in Fort Kent)

Where are you located?

I'm Jason by the way, from CT.

Hi Jason, I'm Aimee. I'm in central Mass in between Leominster and Worcester. Route 140 is a nice ride close to home which brings you passed Wachusett Reservoir and Wachusett mountain.

Cool I'm right down the road (395) in eastern CT. Though I was a Masshole for a long time as I lived on the cape before returning to CT.

What do you ride? How long have you been riding?

Will do a over night trip with a buddy. To southern Ohio and ride along the Ohio river, over to West Virginia to hilly billy hotdogs. We are also going to Pennsylvania to see the flight 911 sight. Both are 400 miles one way trips. Also a few trips to Lake Erie and other places in Ohio.

A couple of years ago, went to Myrtle Beach on my sport bike for bike week. Went to Ocean City, MD last year for bike week. Not sure what to do for 2016. I like to do someplace different every time. All of my start points are from NY. I use to be up in "Lemonster" and "Wooster" all the time, lol.

So far only planned rides are riding out to the SW STARBQ in Phoenix AZ (650 miles + sightseeing rides) Mid May and the NW STARBQ in Toulumne CA (1000 miles + sightseeing rides) Mid August. Taking off for weekend rides are usually unplanned but often since Snot is now in college I have lots of free ride time[SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH]

Those are nice long rides Kim.

Speaking of AZ...My dad is obsessed with the Grand Canyon. He wants to fly us out to Las Vegas to pick up rental bikes and ride around the Canyon. He's 72 years old, and hasn't been on a bike for probably 30 plus years, but I think he's serious! (inspired by me). ;) I believe the ride would be 7 days, averaging about 200 miles a day.

We shall see. That would be longest ride/trip I've ever done!

Lol @yamamassgirl my dad had bought my mom an Indian in the 60's but once she got pregnant with my brother she traded the bike in for 4 legged horse power. I have a special needs sister and she graduated high school this year do my mom who is in her mid 70's is looking at trikes so the 2 of them can go on vacations. Mom and sis went on a vacation recently and my sis asked an older couple if she could sit on their bike. [Image: 2e718d84c1b420d5fc7880993b963b03.jpg]
Now she's convinced that's what mom needs to get.

I live up here in the Lakes Region of NH, so Bike week is literally in my back yard. I am looking to poke around the Cangamagus Highway and head up into Franconia notch.
