2007 V Star 1300
Hey guys. What are your thoughts on the v star 1300s, and the 2007 model year? I'm thinking about buying one of these bikes as a buddy one mine has one for sale. He normally takes pretty good care of his stuff, and he said he has not ever had really any problems with it.

Are there any specific problems to look out for regarding the 2007 v star 1300s? Sometimes specific years have quirks or problems. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. I'm new here and hope this place can be a tremendous resource because even if I don't end up getting this bike, I do want a V Star. Biggrin

A couple of mates ride1300s not sure of year, but neither have had any mechanical issues. One had the polished finish on on the allow rim "peel or chip" was fixed under warranty, his must have been a 2008 and it is still going strong. Although I love my 1100, if I had time again I'd buy a 1300

RE: 2007 V Star 1300
The 1300 is a great bike. No real mechanical issues or warranty or recall issues that I know of. You could always give your Yamaha dealer a call, or stop by with a nice little box of donuts and ask their advice on the model years (ask the techs late in the afternoon when it is slow on a Friday or something). But I don't think the 2007 v star 1300 bikes have any major issues.

Common to have a "Clunk" in the front forks on low speed bumps, usually fixed with progressive springs and short (for the average bear)handle bars are the most common gripes...an 07 has most likely had those addressed. Seat is like most, rough! I think there was a recall on 07s, but I would think it had been fixed, if not it should be covered. Not positive, but if I recall the recall it may have something to do with a fuel line pinch or something...don't quote me on that, I'm sure I'm wrong.

1300 is a great bike.

I have a 2007 1300 tourer and I love the bike and it does have a fuel line recall and if it has not been done to the bike and you take it in they do it for free. I just bought mine with 8,200 miles on it and the guy who had it took very good care of the bike and it is a fantastic bike. I just wish I could get louder exhaust for it without spending a fortune. I did drill the baffle out and that helped but still would like it louder.

Nice reviews. I am thinking to get this and going to take a look at one tomorrow. 2007, 1300cc.
So far my 1100 is performing well except rumbling over 120kph, bike has some style, but will be on sale soon.

@ExodusBiker
I have a 2007 Vstar 1300 tourer. Its a great bike....there are tons of mods that the bike responds to very well to increase performance. Beautiful fit and finish. My bike has a powder cost finish on the frame that is rock solid...I can't find a scratch.
The only problem is the handlebars and during long distances my butt starts to hurt. Not a huge problem with some investment on the off season.

This bike is fun in many ways.....both being an enjoyable ride plus the ability to refine its performance to your standards. it has Power I had it up to 120mph and you could hardly tell.....well at least my girlfriend didn't realize....

Tons of aftermarket accessories....it is below average in terms of other touring bikes in weight which I think is a positive. I get decent gas mileage lets see I made it back and forth two trips to work before I had to refill. 200 miles/4=50 mpg
Any other questions feel free to ask me
