Floorboards installation question
I have a 2000 v star 650 Classic with footpegs. I had a 2007 with floorboards and loved them. I bought a couple of oem floorboards from a wrecked bike to install on my 2000. I'm stuck though. Do I need specific hardware to replace the pegs and if so where can I get it? Thanks in advance for all your help and guidance.

you'll need to cut off the heel shifter if your putting 2007 ( classic ) floorboards on a 2000 because the kickstand will get in way of the heel shifter and you'll need the 2007 shifter rod also because it's slightly shorter than a peg style shifter rod. other than that the brackets and boards with brake pedal and shifter bolt right on, no problem, the brake pedal is different but the brake rods are the same. i'm talking about 2007 classic oem boards that are aluminum and in the shape of a foot not the pressed chromed steel floorboards that bolt to peg brackets

Thank you for your reply. I didn't get anything but the boards-no shifter brake pedal hardware. I guess I made an impulse buy unnecessarily. The seller had them listed as fitting a 2000. I guess I will be looking for another solution for floorboards.

they make oem boards for a 2000 but they fit onto the peg brackets and don't really look as good as the later models after 2000 the classics came with the aluminum boards with heel/toe shifter and they moved the kickstand back so the heel shifter wouldn't hit it, even the custom had the kickstand moved back after 2000
