driveshaft
Rolleyes I have a 2001 vstar custom. The chrome tube( yellow arrow ) that goes over the solid drive shaft is loose. I know the dust shield is bad (pink arrow, also this is not my bike in the pic )and will get replaced. I need to know what keeps that tube tight on the driveshaft. My local Yamaha dealer wants to sell me a new driveshaft.

tack weld the tube, it's only cosmetic to make the shaft look bigger and it looks like the right rubber boot is reversed, the boots are supposed to lock over each other. the big opening go's over the small opening to completely cover the coupler
