CA model solenoid valve?
Hi all,

First time post here and I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction on this mystery part. I just got this bike used and after rebuilding the brakes and adding new tires I took it out for a ride. After about 30 min I drive into the driveway and smell plastic burning. -The bottom of the battery box was on fire. The rectifier got really hot and melted everything in that area.
I've replaced the stator, also replacing the crispy rectifier and instead of trying to splice wires back in, I got an entire harness.

All the connectors match up except for this thing on the left side (pic attached)
It looks like the book schematic shows it as a solenoid valve for the CA model which I have. I'm pretty sure the donor bike was not a CA model but I just can't find any other info on the solenoid valve - can I safely bypass it? Do I need to splice in the old plug for it to run?

Thanks
