1100 diy low profile seat TECH
This may not be for everyone... but it sure is for me. I absolutely hated the factory seat pad...super hard, kinda put pressure on my tail bone, and super ugly so i tore that som***** out. I rode with nothing but the plastic seat pan for quite awhile and after getting teased by EVERYBODY lol i decided to do re cover it.

I used: i linear yard of black vinyl from joann fabrics($19), a can of 3m super 77 spray adhesive(free), some 4.97mm staples and a staple gun(around $10, got em at joanns when i got the vinyl), a 1' by 6' section of carpet padding i got at menards($3 it was off the remnants bin).

*I sprayed the entire seat pan with glue, then i sprayed the bottom side of a section of carpet pad and placed them on each other and the padding.... i did two layers*

*I noticed the corners coming up but i just sprayed the heck out of em and pressed em down*

*then i covered it in several layers of saran wrap...just for water protection*

*then i cut out a sheet of vinyl a bit bigger than the seat and threw it in the dryer for 10 mins on delicate to give it some stretch*

*next i laid the vinyl on the seat and started stretching and stapling... its basically and art form lol but its pretty straight forward. check youtube... a video can explain way better than i can in text*

Great write up, and perfect for those who are budget conscious.

In my opinion though the V Stars OEM seat really isn't that bad. At least when you compare it to an OEM Harley fat boy seat. My cousins bike had a freakin rock as a seat, at least it felt like a rock compared to my V Stars's seat.

Thanks guys! I think the best part with less padding really brings out the curvature of the seat pan. Also if there are any lady or guys that want less seat hight it really helps. Im 6' 1" and can fit just fine but with the rear end of my bike dropped 2 1/2 inches it adds to the low look.
