Last year I rode a 2015 DL1000 with 2 teeth less in the rear drive plate and had no trouble staying up with big bikes (HD Tourers110CI's & a Valkerie 2200cc's) in the western mountains - elevations upward to 12000 feet. This year we will be again riding out west with a destination of Mt. Evans (elevation- 14000+ feet)
Last week-end I rode my 2015 V-Star 950 with same riders and found on the flats a top speed of abt 98mph and on moderate inclines top was in the 70s.
So what I'm thinking is a K&N Air Filter with a Dynojet Power Commander V Autotune kit.
Any thoughts on this as a solution for needed power.
I know it won't change my top end but I'm also thinking about changing the rear belt drive.
