Fun phone calls today!
So, my Vstar 650 muffler is gutted, and she ROARS. Well thats fine, but there is a little thing about me being military that says a ticket out in town is more indepth....then just a ticket out in town.

SO i called a local shop to get my sound decibel tested to ensure they were within legal standards, here is a brief summary of how it all panned out lol

---Called Motorcycle shop:

Me: hey im looking to get my motorcycle exhaust tested in decibel to ensure im within legal standard for the state of Florida?!

Owner: Well, in the state of florida, for the regualtions put into affect (79 dB at 35mph or less 82 dB over 35) he said most bike without a muffler cant reach that sound (exageration of course but entertaining)

---Then i decided to cover all grounds so i get a little wild and call the local Sheriffs Office (dumb right? lol)

Me: Hey i purchased a motorcycle out of Miami and under selling conditions they advised that my baffles have been removed from the exhaust so im afriad it might be a bit to loud for the state of florida?

Officer: This county doesn't issue decibel testers to our police officers, so the only way you could get a ticket is from a State Trooper and there is only one down here that has the device 120 miles north.

--- So finally i called my Motorcycle Coordinator for my base (who also teaches the Basic Riders Course Class coming up)

Me: Hello, im enrolled in the upcoming course but im afraid my exhaust is a little TO loud, i have spoken with local cops, and they assure me that it's either impossible or imporobale to be over the legal limit

Coordinator: When you come to my riding course if your exhaust is some how louder then mine, i'll buy you a set of saddle bags.

Oh what an epic conversation.

Not sure why i felt the need to share this discussion, just some things are funny to me, and this was a great order of events!

Hey i dont know how gutted your pipes are but if youre running basically drags you should look into this ->

http://www.bobhenneman.info/dragpipe.htm

Some instructions on tuneable baffles. They work ok. I lost a little bit of off the line torque when i went to drags but now i can red light race like a fiend.
